With Doctor@Hand, delivered by Doctor Care Anywhere, you can see a doctor quickly and easily while staying safe at home.*

And if the GP needs to prescribe something for you, they’ll arrange for this to be delivered to your home, for no more than the cost of a standard NHS England prescription.* 

You can speak to a qualified GP by video or over the phone 24/7.  

Appointments last 20 minutes and can be booked online or by using the Doctor Care Anywhere app.  Appointments don’t count against any excess you may have so you can book as many as you need.*

How to book an appointment
  1. Create your account at or download the Doctor Care Anywhere app.
  2. Enter your PHC membership number. You’ll find this on your membership documents.
  3. Enter the details for everyone on your plan exactly as the information appears on your membership certificate.
  4. Follow the instructions to set up your account with Doctor Care Anywhere. You’ll need some ID (passport or driving licence) plus a smartphone to take a selfie with.
  5. You’re ready to book!

For some conditions you won’t need a GP referral as you’ll have direct access to treatment through our new Clinical Support Centre. Give us a call and we’ll let you know if you need a GP referral.

If you think you have symptoms of the coronavirus please use NHS 111 online, rather than the Doctor@Hand service.

Subject to appointment availability and the Doctor Care Anywhere fair-usage policy. If your Doctor@Hand GP needs to prescribe something for you, they’ll arrange for this to be delivered to your home, for no more than the cost of a standard NHS England prescription. You’ll need to pay the full prescription and delivery charge and then get reimbursed for costs above the £9.15 NHS charge per item. Please see for full details.
