Call with your health queries any time
Telephone access 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to a medical team to answer company members and family members’ health questions. The medical team are ready to help whether that’s to talk about a specific health worry, medication and treatment, or simply to provide a little guidance and reassurance. Members can speak to them day and night.

Convenient online health information
Our helpful online Health Centres bring together the latest information from our own experts, specialist organisations and NHS resources. Company members and their families benefit from practical information all in one place. Topics range from ageing well, fitness and exercise through to specific conditions and illnesses such as cancer, mental health and diabetes. So, members will be reassured that we’re covering the broad spectrum of health matters they care about.
Plus, company members can also put their own questions to our panel of experts at our regular live online discussions. Alternatively, they can e-mail us their question through the Ask the Expert online panel and the appropriate medical professional will respond.

Ongoing reassurance & support from day one
The stress and worry of being diagnosed with a serious illness can put extreme pressure on your company members. More often than not the diagnosis throws up lots of questions and it can feel like there is no one there to give them the answers they desperately need.
If a member of your PHC private medical insurance plan is diagnosed with an illness such as cancer or a heart condition, we can put them in touch with our Dedicated Nurse Service because we know that a swift diagnosis and prompt treatment access must go in hand with genuine help, support and understanding from people who truly care.
Our friendly nurses are at the end of the phone for you from day one and will provide clinical medical support and guidance to the company member and their family, during and after diagnosis, illness and treatment. All our nurses have years of experience and will take the time to guide you through the next steps, dispel the myths and translate the jargon.
This phone service is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Counselling and Support service
Encouraging mental wellness
As we go through life it is likely that we will encounter unfamiliar situations where some guidance or information can help us make more informed decisions. Our Counselling and Support Service is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to support your company members and their family members deal with life’s up and downs.
This is a completely confidential and impartial service, provided by AXA ICAS, and company members and their family members can call it as often as needed.

- Unlimited personal support
Direct, confidential and unlimited 24-hour access to qualified counsellors who can provide clinical support and guidance or just an ear to listen to
- Face-to-face counselling
Up to five face-to-face sessions with all complex cases assessed and directed by fully trained psychologists, where clinically appropriate
- Counselling via email
e-counselling allowing company members to access counselling discretely and confidentially at a time and place that suits them
- LifeManagementTM Support
Access to support and guidance on a range of everyday matters, such as financial, legal, consumer, housing issues and family care such as childcare, eldercare and disability issues

Managers support package
Company members faced with personal or work-related problems or changes can often feel unsettled, particularly if they are not sure how to set about resolving their issues. This can result in reduced performance in the workplace, changes in behaviour that may affect colleagues, or simply personal distraction.
To help managers combat this issue PHC also provides managers with access to value-added services - helping take the strain off management. PHC’s Managers support package delivers guidance for your line managers when day-to-day team management becomes challenging. The service will help them provide structured and positive support to their employees, enabling them to manage their teams more effectively and assist with improving employee performance and engagement
Our counsellors will work with your managers to help them manage their concerned employee on an array of matters such as approaching difficult conversations, tackling performance issues or managing long-term absence. With PHC your managers are never alone.
