What is not covered
Along with most other insurance providers there are certain conditions and treatments that cannot be covered by our plans. A sample of these exclusions are listed below and full details of these and all other general exclusions are given in the policy document:

| If you have been continuously registered with the same dentist for at least the last 12 months and have been to this dentist within this period. |
We will not cover any treatment already planned or conditions of which you were aware before the start of the plan. |
| If you have been continuously registered with the same dentist for at least the last 12 months but have not been to this dentist within this period. |
We will not cover any treatments identified as being medically necessary at your first visit to the dentist after the commencement date of the plan. |
| If you have not been continuously registered with the same dentist for at least the last 12 months. |
We will not cover any treatments identified as being medically necessary at your first visit to the dentist after the commencement date of the plan (an exception may be made if we can obtain full supporting claims information from the dentist you were previously registered with and had visited within the 12 months prior to the start of the plan). |
Also:
- Treatment that was known to be required, or planned by your dentist, before taking out a Plan.
- UK and Overseas accidental benefits and UK and Overseas emergency benefits are excluded for the first 30 days after the commencement date of your policy.
- Work carried out purely for reasons of appearance.
- Chronic periodontal disease diagnosed before taking out the plan.
- The oral cancer cash benefit is excluded if the diagnosis is made within the first 90 days after the commencement date of the plan.
- Dental implants.
- Charges for out of hours call out fees.
- Injuries as a result of playing sports, where appropriate mouth protection has not been worn.
- Claims submitted over 2 months after the end date of the course of treatment unless this was not reasonably possible.
